I am an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of the South (Sewanee), and will be joining the Department of Economics at Trinity University in San Antonio in the Fall of 2025.
My research interests are diverse but fall under the umbrella of applied microeconomics, with a focus on issues related to inequality and environmental justice. My recent work is in three main areas; energy and the environment, discrimination in marketplaces, and philanthropy. A common theme in my work is the use of theory to inform my research questions.
I like to use findings from my research in the classroom, and find that real world examples help ground the theory we teach in class. I have had the privilege of teaching a diverse set of students at multiple institutes, with varying class sizes. I particularly enjoy teaching game theory as I find students connect well with the intuitive foundations of the subject.
Details about my research projects and teaching can be found in my CV.
Aside from research and teaching, I am an amateur photographer and an avid badminton and table tennis player. You can find some of my pictures on Flickr by using the link above.
