Lisa Carter - President
Lisa Carter, one of the co-founders of H.U.G.S. Ranch in 2006, is now the president of the board and the executive director of the Ranch. She is a single mother of three children, pursuing what she feels God has called her to do. Lisa has a degree in Equine Management and has participated in clinics for working with children with mental health and social struggles. She worked as a veterinary technician for over 28 years and managed multiple horse farms in North Carolina. She is passionate about what she does and feels strongly that the Ranch needs to be used to God’s glory.
Dan Enck- Financial Director
Dan Enck began his experience at H.U.G.S. in the spring of 2018 volunteering as a mentor. He has worked with teenagers as a youth group leader for more than 25 years. He also mentors teenage boys who do not have an active father in their lives'. He enjoys helping others. On Saturday mornings he cooks for a Muskegon community breakfast for those seeking a warm meal. Dan enjoys spending time with his son, daughter, their spouses, and his twin grandsons. He enjoys backpacking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, and riding his bike.
Jill Glass- Secretary
Jill is a co-founder of H.U.G.S. Ranch and has served in a variety of positions through the years. She and her husband Jack have been married 47 years, have 5 children, and 9 grandchildren. Jill was a former teacher and veterinary technician, has mentored unwed mothers, and currently houses those 18-20 years old who are struggling with housing and other life issues. Horses are a passion but living out her faith through sharing Christ's love and helping others is her life's goal.
John Haller- Vice President/Grounds Maintenance
John lives in Byron Center with his wife Connie. They have 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and 2 dogs. John retired from Gordon Food Service in 2017. He is active in his church and the Knights of Columbus organization. John likes to stay active working outdoors, traveling, fishing, and playing golf. He enjoys working with animals and people helping their development and growth. Giving back to the greater Grand Rapids community through volunteering is very important to him.
