On this page, you can find a series of projects I have completed in my free time.
These micro projects aimed at challenging our understanding of what a human user is. By emulating human behavior in a computer program, it is possible to bypass various limitations in web pages. You can access the page here.
Using web scraping and text mining techniques, I analyze the daily briefings of the Ukrainian and Russian Ministries of Defense and contrast them with visually documented losses of material and equipment by both sides. You can access the page here.
The datasets can also be downladed here.
In these projects, I analyze various aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic from an economics point of view.
Spatial distancing: air traffic, Covid-19 propagation, and the cost efficiency of air travel restrictions (2020) with Nicolas Gonne (OECD).
In this paper, we provide a cost-benefit analysis of air travel during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Please see its dedicated section for more information.
In these projects, I determine the factors that contribute to success or failure at EPSO competitions using a variety of statistical and econometric tools. I collect data from EPSO candidates every year and try to extract as much information as I can from the information provided. These results can help candidates better prepare for the next competition by highlighting which are the strategies that pay off.

In this project, I use open data on the location of Points of Interest (POIs) and match it with the preferences of the user regarding those (interest and distance to POIs) in order to detect hotspots where the bulk of the effort should be focused.
