Olivier Hubert
Applied Macroeconomist

Welcome to my website

I currently work as a Macroeconomist in the Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability Division of the Banco de España.

I previously worked in the Public Finances Division of the Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting Directorate at the Banque de France.

My primary research area deals with macro-finance and applied macroeconomics. I am particularly interested in climate change, financial contagion, international spillovers in bond markets and monetary-fiscal policies interactions.

I hold a PhD in Macroeconomics and Finance from the University of Namur under the supervision of Romain Houssa (University of Namur, KULeuven) and Hans Dewachter (National Bank of Belgium, KULeuven).

Prior to my PhD, I completed a Research Master in Economics at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) and a Master in International Economics at the University of Warsaw (UW).

In addition to research, I taught quantitative methods to students at the Bachelor and Master levels for seven years. I also mentored around 10 students per year for their Master thesis.
