Assignment 5: Zombieland - Phase I: Game planning
Description
A simple game to replicate in order to learn how to create a game is Whack-a-mole. The purpose of Whack-a-mole is to literally whack a mole that randomly appears as many times as you can within a set amount of time. We are taking a slightly different spin on the classic game by incorporating zombies. Throughout the following lessons you will learn about game design.
Task
First step in creating any game is to brainstorm, plan and design the gameplay. This phase involves imagination. This assignment mainly completed in the question section below.
Non-technical Considerations
Theme: Combines settings and story to create an environment for the game. As this your first game, the theme has been narrowed down for you.
Objective: Gives the player purpose for playing the game. What must they do to win?
Game play: Provides a short narrative of how the game is play from the point of view of the player. Included in this narrative is not just the straight play but also the increased challenges and options. For instance how does the game change as player progresses or perhaps what options are introduced through the game to hinder or help the play.
Name: Name must be something that engages the player and invites other players to try it. Be Creative!
Technical Considerations
Graphics: No game would be complete without graphics. This includes background, hero images, villain images, supporting images, and power ups to name a few.
Interaction: How will the player interact with the game? Mouse, Keyboard, Joystick, Touch or Motion.
Objects: Identify the primary objects being used and their purpose
