My Logo

I used these guides to make my logo:

1-Listens

I listened to what my teacher wanted to put on the logo.

He wanted to put the main colors: red, white, and blue. He also wanted to put something to represent our school: something to represent learning; such as science, or our mascot.

2-Thinks

Then, I thought about what I would put on the logo; what things I would put that my teacher said he wanted on the logo.

3-Interprets

After I thought about what to put, I interpret it by narrowing it down to a simple but clear topic. The logo should have all three colors: red, white and blue, and it should have symbols related to learning.

4-Connects

Then, I connected the symbols and colors together.

5-Simplifies

After I connected the elements together, I simplified the logo. I took out the things that weren't necessary, to make it less complicated and to give out a clear meaning of the logo.

6-Bridges

When I finished simplifying the logo, I made some minor adjustments to make the logo look more outstanding, and appealing to the eye.

7-Makes Memorable

Ending the project, I made the logo unique to make others remember it; to make it memorable.

Below are the steps on how I made my logo. While doing these steps, I followed the guides above to simplify my logo and make it memorable to others.

Steps:

1: First, I drew a rounded rectangle.

2: Then, I placed a template of a mustang.

Here is the template for the mustang.

3: I then clicked 'Live Trace' to make the mustang template clearer and more smooth.

4:Using the Pen tool, I began tracing the template.

5: Once I finished tracing, I removed the template and got my outline of a mustang.

6. I then reflected the outline, so that there would be a meaning to the mustang: "advancing forward."

7. After reflecting the mustang, I colored the mustang red.

8. I used the Text tool to create 'Harmony School of Science High School' text.

9. I put all the elements together, by making all the layers visible.

10. I decided to put another element in the logo, so I moved the mustang a little to the left. I also changed the color of the mustang to a more reddish color.

11. Since my school is called 'Harmony School of Science,' and there is Science in STEM, I decided to put a DNA template in my logo. I rasterized the photo to make it clearer, for the Live Trace option does not preserve the color and outline of the template.

Here is the link to my DNA template.

12: I made a rough outline of the DNA template using the Pen tool.

13: I used the Eyedropper tool to color the DNA.

14: I added the DNA to my almost-finished logo.

15: I made a few more changes to my logo to make it memorable to others. I changed the color of the mustang to a dark blue, and made the background of the logo red. I also made some adjustments in the DNA template to make it look smoother.
