石川県金沢市生まれ。1970年代後半、当時の先進的な音楽を聴くために集まった学生達を中心に結成された市民団体KUC(金沢アンダーグラウンダーズ・クラブ) が発行していたミニコミ機関誌 - Avant-Garde の編集に参加する。

1980年頃よりヴァイオリンの即興演奏を始め、1985年よりAgencement - アジャンスマンの名義でスタジオ作品の制作、LPレコード、CDなどのリリース、及びライブ活動も開始している。

Hideaki Shimada was born on May 14, 1962 in Kanazawa, Japan. He was involved in violin improvisation since 1980. In 1985 he started solo project Agencement where he creates multi-layered violin improvisation and record them on magnetic tape. In his live performances, he use amplified violin and electronic equipment.

The hectic is gone, and while not entirely replaced by carefully strummed strings, it surely is something much more controlled.
