Conclusion

Results:

According to the experiment I used to determine whether yeast is alive, I concluded that yeast is alive. When yeast and sugar combine with water, they produce Co2, or carbon dioxide, just like other living things.

Conclusion:

My hypothesis was that I think yeast is alive because it is a type of bacteria, and since bacteria is alive, yeast is also alive. When water, yeast, and sugar combine, they release carbon dioxide which is produced from cellular respiration. which is only produced in living organisms. My hypothesis is correct since yeast is alive and is a type of bacteria. In the experiment I used to determine whether yeast is alive, I mixed yeast, water, and sugar together in two test tubes and only yeast and water in two others. on all four I put a balloon to catch the air released. Only the test tubes with sugar mixed with yeast produced carbon dioxide, or anything for that matter. The experiment I used worked well, but I think I could get better results by using different experiments to get more accurate results.
