One day while Emilo was helping his mother sew clothing, he saw a ship returning from the unexplored lands in the Caribbean. He thought maybe he can sneak onto one of those ships and past the guards while being incognito. When he was done helping his mom for the day, he stayed after and worked on making clothes that look like what the royal would wear. He kept doing that for a week without his parents' knowing of what mischief he was planning. His family started to wonder why he would show up late for dinner every night, but his parents just let him go since he was always looking fatigued.
On a late night Emilo went to the harbor wearing one of the finest black silk suit that he dedicated to making. He went past the guards without them allegedly suspecting him. During his trip sailing to the islands of the Caribbean Emilo got seasick and felt nauseous; this was his first on the water. He started to have inevitable rashes and sickness. At one point the doctor's treatment wouldn't work, and he started to developed a fever. Emilo sustained the tormented misery inside of him for a month until he reached the Caribbean islands. There were no Doctors in the area he tried to use the herbs nearby him to cure his sickness, but it didn't help.
Then, he became the only doctor on the Caribbean island, even with his illness. He discovered he had a virus in him. Luckily he found out about it before it was too late. He tried to go back to Portugal be cured, but the ship had sailed back and it was too late. He then ventured into the nethermost jungle in the Caribbean to find the rarest herb in the world; that was the only way to cure himself. It took him days to find it, but eventually the virus has gotten more pernicious that he couldn't get to make the medicine with the herb he had found.
Years later his parents in Portugal got the news that their son had died from an unidentified diseases. His parents later sailed to the Caribbean to certify their son's death. They were tearing up while going back from their expedition. They started to feel uneasy and sick when they arrived back to Portugal.
