What is PBl(project based learning)?
Pbl is a way of teaching were students gain knowledge and skills by working for a couple of months to investigate and respond to questions and problems. This is a way to implement our core subjects in one big project.
What is conservation of energy?
My experiment has to do with conservation of energy, but before we start what is conservation of energy? Conservation of energy is a principle stating that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can be altered from one form to another.
What is thermodynamics?
It is when heat cannot be transfer from a colder to a hotter body. As a result of this fact of
thermodynamics, natural processes that involve energy transfer must have one direction lime
my experiment and all natural processes are irreversible. This law also predicts that the entropy of
an isolated system always increases with time. Entropy is the measure of the randomness of
energy and matter in a system.Because of the second law of thermodynamics both energy and
matter in the Universe are becoming less useful as time goes on.Perfect order in the Universe
occurred the instant after the Big Bang when energy and matter and all of the forces of the Universe
. The Law of Thermodynamics
First law: Energy is conserved; it can be neither created nor destroyed.
Second law: In an isolated system, natural processes are spontaneous when they lead to an
increase in disorder, or entropy.
Third law: The entropy of a perfect crystal is zero when the temperature of the crystal is equal to
absolute zero (0 K).
What is my experiment?
My experiment is to see what is the cause of bits of cotton inside a small tube to ignite when you
quickly compress the air inside the tube. In my project some factors of physics comes into play
when I do this experiment for example the law of conservation of energy and momentum come
to effect. This experiment also includes kinetic & potential and their transformations. It also
includes with the law of thermodynamics & law of entropy.
