This experiments applications lie mainly in network engineering. The main problem addressed is finding the path of least time when the path is traverse two different surfaces. Normally, this problem would require a slightly intensive process that involves deriving a function, and using the first derivative test to find the minimum of that function. Such a process is inefficient when used by a computer program, though. Simply put, an algorithm does the job more efficiently. Bio mimicry is the process by which biological systems and processes are applied in modern technology. In this project, we observe the foraging behavior of ants to better understand the Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm and apply it to the Path of Least Time Problem. Enjoy!
