I will be doing a journal. This will help me understand all the aspects of my project. The journal entries are going to take me step by step through the experience of my project. I will have at least complete 10 journal entries that have to be numbered and dated. In each entry I have to describe my project and the progress I am making. I will obtain background research, diagrams or visuals, and details of each experiment.

Entry #1(0ctober 31):

The Problem of this project is: A hunter goes out to the woods to look for monkeys. He spies a monkey in a tree and fires. At that moment the bullet leaves the gun the monkey lets go of the tree branch and drops straight down. How should the hunter aim to hit the monkey? To answer this question we have to know Galileo’s law that all objects near the Earth's surface fall with the same constant acceleration. Another important thing to know is the definition of projectile motion. Projectile motion is a form of motion in which an object or (called a projectile) is thrown at an angle near the earth's surface, and it moves along a rounded path under the action of gravity. Now, consider what happens if the hunter aims directly at the monkey, and the monkey releases his hold the instant the hunter fires. Because the force of gravity accelerates the dart and the monkey equally, they fall the same distance in the same time. All of this has to do with gravitational force because one object attracts the other.

Entry # 2(November 1): To develop all my ideas for this project I will create an outline. Then I am going to look for important information to put in the background research. This will help me create a hypothesis and at the end have a conclusion. I need to look for different ways to test my experiment and do several trials. I will need to create procedures and take pictures of each step. At the end I will have the results and a clear idea of the experiment. This will show me the ways projectile motion works.

Entry # 3(November 2): The experience of seeking assistance has been very interesting. It helps you learn more about others and their point of view. Seeking assistance from the teacher is a very helpful tool it gives you a better understanding of the project. Its fun to ask your peers their own opinions about your experiment. Their assistance can give you great advice to improve the experiment. The help from the teacher makes you want to do a good project. The helps of other helps you learn something new every day.

Entry #4(November 3):

Using diagrams and visuals are very important. This helps you understand the project. For example the definition of projectile motion and the formulas you need to use to determine its height, time, displacement and velocity. Newton's law of motion helps you know that for every action their is equal or opposite reaction. Law of universal gravitation means that every object in the universe attracts every other object with a force directed along the line of centers for two objects. Their is horizontal and vertical motion and each one has different formulas. When you use diagrams its easier to visualize the problem you are trying to solve.

Entry #5(November 4): I have a plan in mind for the revision of my project. First I am going to ask several of my peers to revise my progress. Then I will ask the teacher to see all the progress I have done. This will help me make sure that I am doing a good job on my project. In my opinion the revision is one of the most important steps. This step is the one that helps you improve your project. A good idea to revise the project is asking different kind of people to know all the points you need to improve. The more revision I have the better my project will be.

Entry # 6(November 5): The outcome of the experiment is to help me determine the time the monkey need to move. It will also help we know why the monkey falls when the bullet leaves the gun. This will give me a better understanding of gravity and how it acts on an object. The pull gravity makes and object take a longer time to fall. Gravity keeps constant and it make the object have a horizontal or vertical motion. The equations give a more detail solution of the monkey and hunter experiment. It all illustrates the effect of gravity on projectile motion. If you know the definition of projectile motion and gravity it will be simpler to find the solution.

Entry # 7(November 5):

I haven't had many accomplishments or frustrations because I barely started my project. I think that might biggest frustration is that I have to catch up to everyone else progress on their projects. This makes me get frustrated because I am the kind of person that likes to get everything done quickly and do it almost perfectly. My biggest success is going be able to complete the project and do a good job on it. For know I am happy because I am getting the concept of the project and I am trying to put everything together. I think that later on I might get frustrated when the time to present the project is getting closer. I will try to make all the accomplishments I can and do a successful project.

Entry # 8(November 6): This project might help me later on when I get a career. Since I want to be a teacher this can be helpful if someday I become a Science teacher. I think that this project might be helpful everyday. It helps you understand the background behind science and how everything works. This projects helps you make a connection to your everyday life and helps you find a n example of projectile motion. If you think about it gravity is every where even though we cannot see it. Science impacts our everyday life even when we don't notice it. One day this project might assist me with my future career goals.

Entry # 9(November 7):

Before November 14 I have to complete tasks 11 and 12. Next week I have to stay afterschool to take pictures of the materials needed for my experiment. Then I will have to create a list of procedures for the project. After adding each step I also need a picture this was when someone looks at my project they are going to be able to understand it. After completing the procedures I want to start typing everything and look for more background information. I will try to bring the materials to my house to see by myself how projectile motion works and how I can make it work better. I will try to think outside the box and look for more examples of projectile motion and the effect gravity has on them.

Entry #10(November 7): Science has never been my favorite subject but this year everything seems so interesting. It's fun to learn how everything works and impacts our every day life. Without gravity our life would be so different. Gravity is the force that attracts the body to the center of the Earth. Newton's law of motions helps us understand that for every action their is a equal or opposite reaction. I hope that by doing this experiment I will have a better understanding of things and even get to love science. I think that this project is going to be a fun activity to do and its going to help people learn about projectile motion and look at it in a different way. Science has changed many peoples life and I hope that by doing this experiment it changes mine by getting to learn more bout its interesting facts.
