Introduction:
Gravity Tube is a tube that creates different sounds. It has 2 ends. This demonstration will relate to some instruments such as flute, trumpets, and etc.
Historical Connection:
Only the wind instruments are related to gravity tube. It makes different sounds due to its wavelength. If the wavelength decreases then it will have a higher frequency which will have a higher pitch. For instance, if the lower end of the flute is covered with fingers, it will have a lower pitch. That is because it is increasing the length of the wavelength. Pitch has both high and low pitch sounds. Whenever it has a higher pitch it means it has a higher frequency and when it has a lower pitch, it has a lower frequency. Flute is a tubular shape that looks similar to the gravity tube. However, there are many different types and shapes of a flute. Flute was found about 43,000 to 35,000 years ago in Germany. Johann Joachim Quantz was one of the first professional flutist. He wrote many flute method books and flute became well-known. Flute Johann George Tromlitz was also one of the influential German flutist who invented 8-keyed flutes. Although, 8-keyed flutes were only played by the professional because it is very difficult to play. Not only flute, Ocarina, cornet, saxophone, and Danso can be the examples of my demonstration. Danso is a Korean traditional instrument that is made out of bamboo that's derived from China, and was invented about 4000 years ago but scientists still aren't sure when it was first made. In a further standpoint, the sound that the gravity tube makes still retains its properties from the sound of other instruments.
