For my English component I will be writing journal entries for every step of my project!
November 8th, 2013:
I just received the Mirage project from Mr. Ekinci and it is definitely much more interesting than the prior one. When he first showed me the small container, I thought it would be boring but it actually was really fun to play around with. I tricked my brother but my parents were smart enough to figure out the technique.
November 12th, 2013:
I had to rehearse with Mr. Ekinci and what I have to say at the STEM Expo at George R. Brown Convention Center. I wasn't that prepared today. Hopefully I will be ready by the actual day.
November 20th, 2013:
Today, I presented my project at the George R. Brown Convention Center in front of a live audience. I was really nervous because I would be presenting to people that I had no clue about. I had rehearsed a lot at home, but it all came out naturally when I saw people and how amazed they were with the illusion. Some older people understood the project before they even tried it out but most of the students were left in awe. It was truly a great experience and I hope that we go there again next year.
February 1st, 2014:
Today was the STEM Festival at HSS-High and I had so much fun! Showing off my fascinating project to the parents, staff, faculty, and students was one of the greatest things I have done at this school. I also learnt so much from working with other people and going to their stations. Everyone who walked by had a very confused face but after I explained the project they chuckled at it and walked away with a smile.
