Key Words:
Electron(s)- is a subatomic particle with a negative electric charge.
Electrode- a conductor through which electricity enters or leaves an object.
Anode- the positively charged electrode by which electrons leave a device.

Introduction/Purpose:
To demonstrate how an electrical current can be generated by using citrus fruits (like lemons or limes) that can power a clock.
Materials:
Citrus Fruits or potatoes
Clock Stand
Alligator clips
Patience!
Procedures:
1. Prepare your fruit for the experiment by squeezing it on all sides with your hands. Make sure not to squeeze too tightly and break the skin! The idea is to soften the fruit enough so that the juice inside are flowing.
2. Put two potatoes or oranges, one in each cup of the clock stand.
3. Insert the Cooper Electrode that is attached to the clock in one the potatoes and the zinc electrode in the other.
4. Now insert the electrodes connected by a wire into the potatoes, the cooper one in the potato with the zinc electrode and the zinc electrode in the potato with the cooper electrode. (They should NOT touch each other inside the potato)
5. The clock should come on. Once on you can change the time.
