-Introduction-
A Kaleidoscope is a basic tube that provides entertainment for all ages. The kaleidoscopes have been around for a very long time. The basic form of entertainment comes with many designs, shapes, and sizes. With just using your hands you can make, at home, the fascinating, extraordinary, beaded entertainment.
-Materials-
1. Paper towel roll/Pringles can
2. Wrapping paper
3. Glue
4. Scissors
5. Ruler
6. Tape
7. Rubber Bands (Color if preferred)
8. Pencil
9. Beads
10. Glitter sequins
-Procedure-
1. Cup a sheet of wrapping paper the length of the Pringles can/Paper towel roll. Apply glue in vertical lines along the can and wrap in in the paper. Cut off any excess and leave the glue to dry.
2. Draw a rectangle on the report cover that measures 8 inches long and 4 inches wide. Draw a line across the length of the cover every 1 1/3 inches so that there are three sections of equal length and one small section. Cut out the rectangle.
3. Fold the rectangle into a triangle using these lines, with the smallest section on the outside of the triangle. Tape the outside edge of the cover to maintain its triangle shape. Place the triangle inside the roll.
4. Use the pencil to poke a hole in the middle of the end of the roll. Band the plastic wrap to the other end of the can so fall somewhat into the triangle. Pour the transparent and shiny objects onto the wrap.
5. Put glue on the wrap along the rim of the roll. Press the lid onto the can and cut the excess wrap from around it. Leave the kaleidoscope to allow the glue to dry.
6. Enjoy!
-Scientific Principle-
The scientific principle of a kaleidoscope is it teaches how light reflects off of to create different shapes and designs. And demonstrates how light can travel through glass.
-Safety Regulations-
1. When cutting with scissors, cut away from self.
2. Any sharp objects should be kept a safe distance away.
3. Have supervision if needed.
