Aquajet

AQUAJET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIG PICTURE

- Velocity

- Acceleration

- Pressure

-Motion

FUNDAMENTALS

NEWTON'S THIRD LAW OF MOTION

Newton's Third Law of Motion consist of three different laws.

1.) If a certain object experiences no net force, then its velocity is constant, the object then is either at rest (with a velocity of zero) or it keeps at a constant speed.

2.) The acceleration a of an object is directly proportional to the net force F acting on the object, and such then it is also directly proportional to the mass M. Therefore F=Ma.

3.) When an object exerts a force F1 on a second object, reciprocally the second object exerts a second force F2=-F1 on the first object.

Then so, forces F1 and F2 are both equal in motion but opposite in direction.

MORE ON FORMULAS

To get a close estimation of the height the Aquajet will reach the following formula can be used

h= (Mo/MR)^2 (Po/pg)

When

Mo is the initial mass of the water only

MR is the mass of the Rocket with water

Po is the initial pressure inside the rocket

p the density of water and g the gravitational acceleration

Materials

1.attach the strings to the edges of the plastic bag to create the parachutte.

2.create the rocket covering it with posterboard, create your own design.

3.Take data for the water inside the rocket and it's pressure.

4. Locate the rocket ready to launch.

5.Set up measurements for height and time.

6.Launch the rocket, take data and analyze for a conclusion.

RESULTS

After the experiment was done, the rocket was

calculated to achieve a height of seven meters

up in the sky, of course being filled with one

third of the bottle with water, and being

pumped pressure 60 psi.

-Three credit cards to make the fins

-A plastic bottle as the rocket

- A plastic bag and strings for the parachute

-Bomb of air to propulse the rocket

- Rocket launcher
