All 28xx & 0671 Marines can attend a course for 0621 Marines, but 0621 Marines must get special approval to attend a course specifically for 28xx & 0671 Marines.
0621 RADIO OPERATORS PRIORITY ATs:
Homesite AT
As horrible as spending two weeks at the unit may sound, these ATs are actually very important to keeping our unit functioning properly. There's only so much I&I staff can do by themselves, and there's very little time during normal drills for us reservists to assist, so Homesite ATs allow a good chunk of time for housekeeping type work to be completed, such as prepping for company inspections, SL-3 all gear, PMCS our HMMWVs, etc. Generally, Homesite ATs are scheduled with the weekend in the middle overlapping a drill, which means you will not have a free weekend.
PME Resident Course
Such as Corporal's Course (optional for Reserve Cpls) or Seargent's Course. If you need this, you will be forced to attend this course for your AT and will most likely not be able to participate in any other ATs.
Reserve Corporals Course (Must be requested from FHG, not MCTIMS)
RESERVE SERGEANTS SCHOOL
RESERVE STAFF NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS CAREER SCHOOL (For SSgts)
RESERVE STAFF NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS ADVANCED SCHOOL (For GySgts)
AROC (Advanced Radio Operators Course)
Usually held at Camp Pendelton (sometimes at 29 Palms), this is an indoor classroom AT that focuses on advanced knowledge of radios. Monday-Friday course at CTC-1 with weekends and afternoons free. Highly recommend this course. Please note for attendance at the AROC, students must be able to: a. Utilize an SKL and identify fills associated to waveforms; b. Fill a radio with a SINCGARS Loadset; c. Manually Load single keys for all radios (PRC-150, PRC-117F, PRC-117G, PRC-152); e. Have a basic understanding of the listed radios (frequency ranges, characteristics and components) (PRC-150, PRC-117F, PRC-117G, PRC-152). Students unable to perform the above steps during an intro practical application will be sent back to their units.
Single Channel Radio Incidental Operator Course (commonly abbreviated: IROC)
Similar to AROC, but different content. I've never attended this, but this would be an acceptable alternative to AROC if you can't find a seat. This course is only one week long.
EXPEDITIONARY COMMUNICATIONS COURSE (ECC)
MCCES, 29 Palms. CID: M09PEC1
PREREQUISITES:

PURPOSE: To create versatile and adaptable Marines capable of independently performing basic to intermediate planning and functions within the realms of Data Systems, Networking, and Transmission at the tactical edge to support command and control.
SCOPE: This course introduces each of the core communication disciplines within the Marine Corps providing a holistic view of how each element is integrated into the larger communications architecture and ongoing operations. In addition to the disciplines, instruction will be provided on planning and mission analysis, communications planning, and an understanding of Joint and Allied partner communication integration. The course will also review operations in a denied, degraded or contested environment and how this will affect spectrum and digital signature management; how understanding peer capabilities as well as environmental conditions enables effective planning and adaptive response.
SPEED
SPEED is the Rado Operators software that allows users to enter the conditions of the environment (like terrain, time of day, etc) and the software will recommend frequencies to use. We use SPEED for drill planning, and having more Marines with an understanding of how this software works would benefit us greatly.
SharePoint Basic Site Manager
SharePoint is the name of the cloud-based software that our unit uses to share files. Similar to Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint allows uses to create folders and files and collaborate on projects. We use SharePoint for several things, but the full feature set is currently not being utilized to it's maximum, which could be changed by having more Marines trained in how to operate the software. This course is only 4 days long, you may be able to attend the Advanced course immediately following this for AT.
SharePoint Advanced Site Manager
This course is for Marines who have already completed the Basic Site Manager course and will have a need for advanced collaboration tools on SharePoint.
Mountain Communications (MountComm)
CID: M24CXJ1. This is a Comm course held in Bridgeport that focuses on using our Comm gear in mountainous terrain. Ruck hikes are to be expected, most of this course is in the field - but the training here is exceptionally valuable for what we do on a regular basis.
R-ABC (Reserve Anglico Basics Course) or Anglico Back-To-Basics Course
This course is perfect for Marines who are new to the ANGLICO type of units. It goes over the basics of being an RO and FO relative to how we utilize those MOSs, and the structure of ANGLICO.
Other Courses (Need to add more info):
