"Linc Davis" is a username that was once very active on the Apple Communities forum, providing what seemed to be unbiased technical answers to questions backed by verifiable facts and computer science (unlike a handfull brainwashed cultmembers whose full time job is to tell you: "uninstall that antivirus," "run an etrecheck," "that's impossible," "there's no such thing," or "you must have done this" ). The identity of Linc Davis is disputed and their whereabouts have not been known for several years. 2. After selecting the text above starting at "PATH" and ending at "C5" with no other characters or spaced before or after your selection copy it to your clipboard (⌘C).
3. Open the Terminal app (⌘Space Bar and type "Terminal" then press enter)
4. Click the Terminal window and paste the script (⌘V)
You will be asked for your password. Whenever you enter your password in the Terminal you should always check that "Secure Keyboard Entry" under the "Terminal" tab has a check mark next to it and not a minus sign. Even though you probably type in your password for every popup that asks, it should be noted that privilege escalation in an inherent vulnerability. That said, this script makes no changes and only reads then reports on various items.
5. Let the script run. It will display that part 8 of 8 has been completed then the results will be automatically copied to your clipboard.
6. Open TextEdit and paste (⌘V) the results there. Look for "bad extensions" or "bad plists" and other items that may be of interest.
