Our Board

KEN McKAY was the highly visible full-time manager of SIR's FABRIC's (a family-owned business) from 1991 until its tragic fire in 2018.SIR’S was a popular shopping destination for over 70 years.

Ken is now a realtor at WEICHERT, REALTORS, Joe Orr & Associates here in Tullahoma. He has a long career in retail sales with proven expertise in customer service. He is well-known for his years of enthusiastic and tireless dedication to his customers’ needs.

Ken, his wife, and two sons moved to Tullahoma in 1991. Both of his sons were educated in the Tullahoma City Schools System from kindergarten through high school.

Ken was a member of the Fayetteville Rotary Club for over 20 years. He has been the Co-Chairman of the Lincoln County Toy Drive since 1994.

Ken volunteers every week as a "side walker" & loves it!  

LISA HATFIELD is a physical therapist and owner of TOP Rehab Services which specializes in outpatient adult orthopedics and adult and pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Besides her passion for children with special needs and Horse Play where she has volunteered and served on the board for many years,  Lisa loves her church, music, and gardening.  Originally from Pennsylvania Lisa has lived in Normandy with her husband Rob for 30 years.  They have 4 grown sons and 3 grandchildren.  

DICK COWAN is a retired pediatrician who practiced for over 40 years in Alabama and Tennessee.  He has been a part of Horse Play since it was founded many years ago (he was part of the group that started the program), serving on the board as Medical Director and treasurer, as well as working as side walker and leader in the past. Originally from Nashville and Clarksville, he and his wife Marcia have made Tullahoma home for the past 27 years.  He has 2 grown sons and one adorable grandson.  He was also a long term member of Kiwanis and worked with Saddle Up before moving here.

 MARCIA COWAN is a retired pediatric nurse practitioner who worked at Tullahoma Pediatrics.  She first fell in love with therapeutic/recreational riding programs while in graduate school in Birmingham as a class assignment.  Since then, she continued to work with programs wherever she has lived, including A Leg Up in Virginia and Saddle Up in the Nashville area.  She was part of the group that started Horse Play over 20 years ago and currently is back on the Board.  She calls Alabama home, but has been in Tullahoma for 27 years.  She enjoys reading and gardening, but biggest passion is trying to improve the health of children in this area.  She and Dick have 2 grown sons and new grand-baby Jack, who is amazing!

JACK WALTERS is a retired US Navy pilot and a retired USAF aerospace engineer. A native of western New York State, Jack and his family were stationed at multiple locations throughout the US and moved to Tullahoma to work at AEDC in 1974. Jack served on multiple corporate boards while in the Navy and has extensive experience in project and organizational management. He lives in Tullahoma with his wife, Reba and has two grown daughters.  One of Jack’s daughters benefited from a therapeutic riding program in her youth and volunteered here while in high school.  Jack has served as a volunteer at Horse Play for many years.

PHILIP (PJ) BAILEY is a retired US Air Force Navigator and a retired high school Junior AFROTC instructor. He lives in Tullahoma with his wife Carol, and has four daughters. PJ has served many years as a Horse Play volunteer and has been on the Horse Play Board of Directors for several years. Currently PJ is working part time driving for the Coffee County Senior Center public transportation system.

FRANK HENDERSON has lived in Tullahoma for 32 years.  He has been in transportation for 46 years and has owned and operated Reliable Carriers, Inc. in Manchester for the past 31 years.  Frank joined the Horse Play board about 15 years ago to try to give back to the community to which he has become attached.  Frank feels the success of the program depends on the board and the volunteers.  He is proud to be a member of such a great and caring program.

RODNEY HOLDER Rodney Holder works for Nissan North America in Decherd as a Forging Tool and Die Technician. He lives in Belvidere with wife Hollie Holder and two daughters. He enjoys working with his hands, horses, garden and bees. Has volunteered with Horse Play since 2019 and is the Horse Play property manager. Horse Play has become a major part of his life as he sees and enjoys the major impact it has on its participants. 

KRISTIN CARTER-MOSLEY Kris grew up in Rutherford County and moved to Winchester in 2019. She worked as a Registered Dental Assistant for 33 years in the Nashville area. She has always had a passion for ministering to children and caring for animals. 

Shortly after moving to Winchester, Kris attended a side walkers’ class at Horse Play and has been volunteering with Horse Play ever since. Kris considers it a privilege to work for Horse Play as a caretaker after only having a horse for a short time as a child. She is passionate about our Horse Play children and programs.

When Kris is not at Horse Play, she enjoys spending time with her husband Paul, and their two grown children. Her hobbies include vegetable and flower gardening, hiking, fishing, and relaxing on the lake.
