Parent handbook

This Parent Handbook along with the Enrollment Agreement is an agreement between EDP and the parents or guardians of children who are enrolled in the program.

Staff Responsibilities

1. Provide a safe and caring environment for your child/ren.

2. Provide a variety of activities and experiences for your child/ren.

3. Communicate regularly with the parent/guardian.

4. Notify the parent/guardian if your child fails to report to the After School Program.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

1. For morning program, sign my child in each day and report his/her arrival to a Horn EDP staff

2. Pick up my child prior to 5:45 p.m., sign out and report to a Horn EDP staff person before leaving the site.

3. Notify the Horn EDP staff of my child’s absences from PM program. It is not necessary to report AM absences.

4. Report family or school situations that may affect my child’s behavior and/or emotional well-being.

5. Notify, in writing, any changes in my child’s enrollment or emergency forms (phone numbers, addresses, etc.).

6. Abide by Horn Elementary School Policies

7. Be responsible for reading the Parent Announcement Board, Weekly Newsletter, and checking emails for any information regarding the program

Child Responsibilities

1. Put my belongings away neatly in the storage area provided when I enter the EDP area.

2. ALWAYS show respect for others, children and adults.

3. Keep my hands to myself.

4. Be polite in words and actions. No put downs or foul language.

5. Pick up my area before I go to another area.

6. Use indoor and outdoor equipment safely.

7. Walk, unless it is part of an activity.

8. Have permission from a staff member to leave the EDP area for ANY reason and change my nametag to reflect where I am.

9. Follow ALL school rules.

10. Be a positive representative of the Horn EDP program on field trips.

11. Sit at the designated area, use good table manners and a quiet voice while I eat. I will clean my area when I am finished.

12. Always ask prior to using program equipment or other EDP student’s personal items.
