Hopeful Futures Center for the Family - Keren Chansky Suberri, Ph.D., ABPP

If you are a parent of a child with special healthcare needs, chronic illness, impairment or disability, then you know that the journey is not an easy one.

There are times when your life is fraught with worry, disappointment, sadness, frustration, and even: loneliness. Like any parent, you want your child to be happy, to feel good about himself and have meaningful friendships. You want your child to sleep well through the night and go cheerfully off to school in the morning. You want your family life to run smoothly and your home to be a loving, happy place; a safe haven for your entire family.

You want the world to see your child as the whole person she is and not as the medical diagnosis or educational label she has been given.

I have had the great privilege of helping over 1000 families across the globe who have a child with special healthcare needs due to illness, disorder, impairment or developmental disability. I continue to be both humbled and inspired by these young people and their families. I have seen remarkable changes in their lives. I am convinced that whatever roadblocks you and your family are experiencing right now- whatever obstacles you are encountering in your lives’ journey- your lives can improve. Things can be better.

The mission of the Hopeful Futures Center is to serve as a worldwide resource on behalf of young people with special healthcare needs, their families, schools, healthcare teams and communities.
