Introduction Paragraph with Thesis Statement
Directions:
Write one introductory paragraph of your research paper the includes the following
three items:
1. Grab the reader’s attention with a compelling quote, eyewitness account, or
dramatic statistic.
2. Explain the basic context and/or necessary background information: who,
what, when, where, etc. (Copy from topic paragraph and expand?)
3. End the introductory paragraph with your thesis statement and underline it. This assertion will
be supported by evidence in the body of your paper.

When finished, submit completed work to Google Classroom
