Question: How can we assist our Korean student in applying something called the LAMP method?
Answer: LAMP just stands for Language Acquisition Made Practical. Your main role will be to encourage your student to practice the language they have learned. As your student tries to use a new word and phrase, give both positive encouragement and constructive criticism. After your student says something you can respond by speaking the sentence for the student correctly and giving your comment and stating something in reply. Encourage students to repeat after you something they have learned to say, so that they may learn to speak it correctly. Also encourage using the language throughout the day. Your student will notify you of the words and phrases being worked on each day so that you are aware of the student’s goals and are more able to effectively assist.
