Question: How can we provide a good orientation for our student?
Answer: We encourage your family on the first day of home stay to conduct a simple orientation. After covering the schedule for the home stay experience, discuss the details of your family’s daily schedule. Share with your student any special household rules and standards that your family has that will also be important for your home stay student to follow. Set guidelines for computer usage. Try to introduce your family’s background by showing the students a recent set of pictures or a photo album. You can also ask the student to share more about themselves and their family. End the orientation with prayer asking God to bless the whole home stay experience.
