Our Group

"Despite moving 30 kms away from the area four years ago, we could not imagine anyone else looking after our girls. We gladly commute to the city so that Skye can have the continued benefit of Louisa’s wonderful care." Family Testimonial

We are a fun, loving, little group of four pre-schoolers. Our group is made up of a maximum of two under-2s at any one time, and over-2s.

My sons (the team's professional big brothers), Alfie and Henry, join us for a short time after school and during school holidays.

We also enjoy the company of previous Discover Kids after school and during school holidays, when space allows.

The children love playing together and are firm friends but they are also welcoming of new children and social in larger groups. We have friendships in the community and we meet with similar aged children regularly. We also have a strong bond with past Discover Kids and the children that have grown up and moved on from my service meet up with us regularly, forming our extended family.

The mix of ages in our group replicates a family environment where everyone learns from one another regardless of age. We have helped many only-children share, helped older children get ready for school and helped those expecting siblings prepare and provided them with support and consistency.

The younger kids love to watch and play with the older children, learning a great many things from their older 'siblings'. In turn they are loved and cared for by the bigger kids, their presence helps teach the older ones about playing gently and looking after others.

In my care your child will have the opportunity to build loving and secure relationships with myself and the other children in our team, as well as make wider connections in the groups we regularly attend. Friendships that teach them values and skills for life.

Being a small group we can accommodate individuals and be flexible, allowing us to go out and about very easily. We know each other very well so I can predict and respond to needs quickly. The children have just one dedicated carer to build a confident and secure attachment with. As a small group there's time to focus on individual current interests and personalised development opportunities. Quite simply, we are a close family, loving to learn together.
