Juan is developing his dissertation research on the macroevolution of Characidae
Pat's dissertation includes work on the phylogenomics, macroevolution and adaptive diversification of poeciliid fishes, particularly in the Caribbean.
Tom's dissertation focuse on the phylogeography and landscape genomics of cichlids and other fishes in the Guiana Shield region of northern South America
Sam's research is highly varied and approaches macroevolution and evolutionary ecology of fishes from a variety of perspectives. In the lab, he has been working on the macroevolution of Neotropical freshwater fish assemblages. More recently, Sam has been working on the evolutionary history of feeding and functional morphology of pharyngognath fishes
Viviana's work ranges from phylogenomics and macroevolution of cichlid fishes, to developing new approaches to use natural history collections data to study macreovolutionary change. More recently Viviana is part of a collaborative effort studying the functional ecological attributes of a highly endemic community of Netropical fishes and developing recommendations for their conservation given impacts of gold mining in the Guiana Shield.
