About Us

What We Do: The Rowing Club at Harvard Kennedy School is an HKS student organization. The club serves a great way to meet people across the Harvard campus. Our club is an affiliate of Harvard University Graduate Student Rowing (HUGSR), which works to coordinate rowing activities across the university, including both land and water workouts. Its members include affiliated clubs at HKS, HBS, and GSAS, as well as grad students from across the university.

History: Past members of the club have rowed for Oxford and Cambridge Universities in England, as well as for NCAA D1 rowing programs, as well as clubs throughout the United States. We also welcome novices interested in learning to row.

Training (Fall 2022):

  • We are currently holding land workouts (erging, weights, etc.) at the MAC athletic facility. More details and the full schedule are available in our WhatsApp Group.

  • We also coordinate on-the-water workouts from Magazine Beach (experienced rowers only) and Newell Boat House (novices and mixed-experience boats). These will likely take place through early/mid-November, weather pending.

  • Anyone with a Harvard Recreation membership and a swim card can sign up to scull from September 6-November 5. You can find more information here.

  • Want to join us? Find out how on the "How to Join" page.

Social: In addition to rowing and fitness training, club members also host social events.
