In 586 BC. Judea was conquered by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. See chapter Babylon.
The Perdians conquered Babylon in 539 BC, and the Jews were allowed to return to Judah, and rebuild the temple. See chapter Persia.
Alexander the Great conquered in Jerusalem in 332 BC. After his death the Seleucids reigned Judea. Alexander IV Epiphanes tried to destroy the Jewish religion. See Alexander. This led to the rebellion of the Maccabees(167 BC.) See Hanukka.
Judea became an independent kingdom and was ruled by 5 kings and one queen of the Maccabees. See Kingdom.
