I. Hippeastrum intiflorum

A friend specializing in cacti and living in Chile found this Hippeastrum in the department of Cusco.

He took a small offset and sent it to me.

A few years later, here is the superb flower!!!

Intiflorum means "flower of the sun", it was one of the favorite flowers of the Inca people.

Sadly, this beauty give me rarely offsets...
