Roberto Caccia is the founder and sole owner of High Peaks Advisors LLC.
Prior to founding HPA, Roberto worked at the New York office of Goldman Sachs for fourteen years. For the first twelve years he was a strategist, focusing on commodity and credit derivatives; in that capacity, he structured deals, oversaw the construction, calculation and risk management relative to the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index (GSCI), he led a team of quants for the credit derivatives and structured credit desk. He then named created and led the counterparty risk management team for the global trading areas of the firm, creating a more structured process for the negotiation and approval of ISDA and other Master Agreements, the monitoring and management of counterparty risk for the firm.
Most recently, Roberto was the Risk Officer for the Blackstone Alternatives (BAAM, now BXMA), and for the credit area (formerly knwn as GSO, now BXCI), where he developed modelas and governance for risk management.
Prior to that, Roberto spent two years at McKinsey&Co Italy as a business analyst, where he consulted for clients in the energy and banking sector.
Prior to that, Roberto was a lieutenant in the Italian Air Force, while completing his PhD in Electrical Engineering.
Roberto Caccia was part of the faculty in the Finance department of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder and was the executive director of the Burridge Center for Finance. His teaching experience covered investments and portfolio management, derivatives and special topics in investment banking. As Burridge Center Director, Roberto promoted the connection between the school and the industry, through a number of initiatives involving student body and faculty.
