After a hiatus of a couple of years, the HFFA Jackpot Tournament will commence again with the 3rd (and hopefully annual) HFFA Jackpot Tournament. The tournament is a one day affair starting at 8:00 am and ending at 3:00 pm and will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 on the waters of Lake Wilson/Wahiawa Reservoir.
In keeping with the core value of the HFFA to promote strong conservation and the perpetuation of fishing for future generations, this tournament will be catch and release. All participants are required to have their freshwater fishing licenses and entry pass to fish on the lake. Boats should comply with all State regulations for size and safety equipment. Most of all, have fun and enjoy the day.
Jackpot Tournament fishing rules
Maximum 2 anglers per boat
Only artificial lures may be used. No live or cut baits allowed
Only one rod and reel can be used at a time
Only one lure per rod/reel ( i.e. umbrella rigs w/ multiple lures not allowed )
Trolling is prohibited
Landing nets may be used
A distance of 50 feet between boats on the same side of the bank must be maintained
unless invited by the angler who was there first
Casting, spinning, spincast or fly rods may be used
A three (3) fish limit per boat will be in effect – minimum 10”(mouth to fork) to qualify for weigh-in
Anglers may cull fish during the course of the tournament
State laws will supersede all tournament rules
Hawaii freshwater fishing license and Wahiawa PFA waivers are required
State regulation on boat length of 18ft maximum
Tournament fishing times: From 0800 TO 1500 - weigh-in on the waters near the boat ramp
There is an entry fee of $40.00 per boat with a 100% return of entry fees. Payout amounts will be determined by the number of boats entered. NO REFUNDS
Aggregate three fish limit for weigh-in. Payouts will be as follows:
1st place 50%
2nd place 30%
3rd place 20%
The deadline to submit entry and waiver forms is Sunday, October 19, 2014. Please read the tournament rules and complete the waiver and entry forms. Tournament rules, entry form, waiver form and catch and release/livewell information documents are listed below.
