Each of the the following percents are a percent of the course grade:
Khan Academy Homework = 80%
Final Exam = 20%
Your numeric score will be converted into a letter grade according to the following:
Grading scale: All members of the Mathematics department of Tunxis Community College use the following grading scale for final grades in the course:
A: 93-100; A-: 90-92; B+: 87-89; B: 83-86; B-: 80-82, etc. based on the final average in the course, rounded to the nearest whole point
A few important notes about the final:
It will be in person on the Tunxis campus. (That is the only in-person requirement for the class.)
You need to get at least a 50% on the final to pass with anything higher than a D+ in course. So make sure not to tank the final. Even if your Khan score is great, you won’t be able to pass unless you get above a 50%.
You will be allowed one page of notes single-sided on the final exam.
You cannot use any calculator more powerful than a TI-84+. If you aren’t sure, if your calculator is allowed email me at hendree.milward@ctstate.edu to ask.
