Dr. Hemant Kumar Singh, Ph.D.

Dr. Hemant K. Singh is an avid advocate for renewable energy and analytics, specializing in solar photovoltaic (PV) technology. With a Ph.D. from the Department of Energy Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, he conducted research on advanced light trapping structures for thin c-Si solar cells under the National Center for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE), a project funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. His academic journey includes an M.Tech in Solid State Technology from IIT-Kharagpur, focusing on CIGS-CdS based hetero-junction for solar applications, and an M.Sc degree in Physics with Electronics specialization from D.D.U. Gorakhpur University. Currently serving as the Engineering Manager (PV Module Technology Expert) at EDRC-Renewables SBG (PT&D IC), L&T Construction, Larsen & Toubro since January 2022, Dr. Singh previously worked on the NCPRE Phase-II project at IIT-Bombay from July 2017 to July 2020 as a Senior Project Manager and as Senior Project Engineer at NCPRE, IIT Bombay from December 2016 to July 2017.

Dr. Singh contributed to solar cell/module R&D and manufacturing, as well as PV power plant performance evaluations. He has authored/co-authored numerous international journals, conference papers, and a book on light trapping technology for solar PV devices. Dr. Singh's extensive expertise spans mentoring students, researchers, and technical staff in the realm of solar PV technology.
