  - Description
    - This course covers file processing, file system, and Flash SSD. For course projects, students will have to develop their own user-level local hybrid file systems for devices employing SSD as a cache for HDD using the Linux FUSE interface. Also, they will develop distributed network file systems using FUSE too. In addition students will have the opportunity to use Jasmine OpenSSD Platform and implement per-channel GC collector algorithm with page-based FTL and then, implement DFTL with their per-channel Garbage Collection. By performing these course projects, students shall understand file processing, file system and storage device vertically from applications all the way down to hardware through OS.
