Hi, I have a cloud hosting account with Siteground which I am constantly getting billed for autoscale events (and also crashing sites) My hosting started at $100 a month but has quickly become $170 a month due to autoscale events. Siteground constantly tell me I need to 'ask a developer' and are unable to give a lot of information on what the issue is.
I finally got a reply from SG web hosting that suggested that robots from Uptime Robot and ‘opensiteexplorer.org’ are overloading the server and crashing the sites. UptimeRobot I have only been using since having issues with SG as I wanted to know how often the sites are actually going down, while I’m not entirely sure what opensiteexplorer.org is other than it redirects to moz.com
I'm getting really frustrated with Siteground support and I see a lot of posts in this group talking about how their support has got a lot worse, while others are saying the Siteground cloud servers aren't good at all. I'm hoping someone can let me know if their reply is legit and something I need to investigate, or if I should just move my sites to another host to save the hassle.
