I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Fairfield University. I received my B.S. in Statistics from Allameh Tabatabai University in 2005, an M.A. in Economic Development and Planning from Alzahra University in 2008, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Kansas State University in 2015.
My research focuses on macroeconomics, with an emphasis on fiscal and monetary policy, business cycle fluctuations, foreign exchange intervention, and aggregate productivity. My work has been published in Macroeconomic Dynamics, Emerging Markets Review, Empirical Economics, Journal of Economics and Development, Journal of Government and Policy, International Economics and Economic Policy, Applied Economics Letters, and The Journal of Investing, among others.
I regularly present my research at regional, national, and international conferences, including the Western, Southern, Eastern, and Missouri Valley Economic Associations, as well as the National Business and Economics Society, where I received the Best Paper Award in 2019. In 2014, I was one of only 460 young economists worldwide selected to participate in the 5th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Economic Sciences in Lindau, Germany.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to receive several awards, including the Graduate Student Teaching Award for excellence in undergraduate teaching and multiple competitive fellowships and scholarships during my doctoral studies.
At Fairfield University, I teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Introduction to Microeconomics, Introduction to Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Macroeconomics for Business Leaders (MBA), Applied Time Series Analysis and Economic Forecasting (MBA), and Global Financial Markets and Institutions (Shanghai MBA Program).
