LINE-UP: DARRYL WAY (VIOLIN), FRANCIS MONKMAN (SYNTHESIZER), FLORIAN PILKINGTON-MIKSA (DRUMS), IAN EYRE (DRUMS), AND SONJA KRISTINA (VOCALS).
"SECOND ALBUM" (1971) PRODUCED HIT SINGLE "BACK STREET LOVE", ALTHOUGH BAND STILL LABOURING UNDER GIMMICK BAND TAG AS A RESULT OF PRESENTATION OF "AIR CONDITIONING". EYRE REPLACED MIKE WEDGEWOOD BEFORE RECORDING OF "PHANTASMAGORIA" (1972) AND, FOLLOWING IT RELEASE, MONKMAN, MISKA, AND WAY DEPARTED. WAY FORMED WOLF. NEW MEN WAS NINETEEN YEAR OLD KIRBY ON GUITAR, SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD VIOLINIST/SYNTHESIZER PLAYER EDDIE JOBSON (SUBSEQUENTLY TO JOIN ROXY MUSIC), AND DRUMMER JIM RUSSEL. NEW LINE-UP PRODUCED "AIR CUT" (1973) WHICH DESPITE CRITICAL ACCLIAM, SOLD RELATIVELY POORLY.
