The singing term runs from January 17th to April 4th. This term we start off with Ric LLoyd until the end of February. Then we have Susie Ennals for 3 weeks and Ric again for the last two.
Next term will run from April 30th to July 11th. After the Easter break Rosie McConnell will be leading the first 6 sessions. Susie will then lead 2 sessions as a refresher for Sing for Water event.
Heartsong choir will be taking part in the Sing for Water massed-choir event in Cardiff on June 18th.
Susie Ennals lead the choir in the run-up to Christmas to sing Carols in various care homes in and around Aberystwyth.
See the Calendar for the programme of tutors.
Heartsong Choir meets every Tuesday, usually in the Round Studio at the Arts Centre, Aberystwyth at 7.15 for a prompt 7.30 start.
The singing year is divided into three terms with breaks at Christmas, Easter and for about two months in the summer.
Anyone with an interest in singing is welcome to join us
Songs are taught solely by ear, so no musical knowledge is necessary and there are no auditions (see Style and Approach). The atmosphere is informal, supportive and therapeutic, and it is always great fun. The main aim is to enjoy singing together. New singers will find that they are quickly made welcome.
The Choir takes part in occasional concerts, often in collaboration with other choirs. These have taken place in the Arts Centre, in theatres, in chapels and even on the beach.
We are very grateful to Aberystwyth Arts Centre for the use of a room for weekly rehearsals and for continued support.
