Due Date: Friday, October 24th, 2014
What's Due: * 8-12 sentences about the planet, constellation, galaxy, or comet you chose
* 3D model or poster of the planet, constellation, galaxy, or comet you chose
Details:
Now that you have selected a celestial body to research, you will need to collect information using this website. Your teacher will give you a graphic organizer you can use to take notes.
Then you will write a report on your celestial body to share with the class, families, and friends who come to visit our space museum on Friday, October 24th.
You must write at least 8 sentences about the planet, constellation, comet, or galaxy you've chosen. Your sentences should include the answers to the following questions about your celestial body:
1) Who discovered it? What year or time period was it discovered during?
2) Can you see it with the naked eye or do you need a telescope?
3) Where is it located?
4) Who or what is it named after?
5) What does it look like?
6) What is it made of?
7) How large or small is it in comparison to earth?
8) What's the coolest thing you discovered while conducting research on your chosen planet, comet, galaxy, or constellation?
You will also be responsible for creating a model or poster of your celestial body. Your teacher will share more information with you about what sort of project your class will be creating. Ms. Coburn's class should check out these model projects to get ideas for their own projects.
