Welcome to our homepage of the HAVANA ANGELS .

Havana Angels is happy to be a home to a wonderful breed: the Bichon Havanese.

We breed our Havanese with lot of love,like our children,first as home pets ,

and second as a show quality dogs.

My name is Johana Matas.

My family of three children, and my wonderful husband,

are very supportive of my Havana Silk Dog endeavor, learning with me along the way.

We live in Haifa, Israel, in a suburban neighborhood of 500 private houses.

We have a beautiful house that extends to a big garden and yard.

I have been living with dogs since I was a child.

We got our first Havanese, Tina, in 2007 and we fell in love!

She is everything we could have hoped for.

She is obedient, friendly, healthy and agile, and very pretty.

We bought Tina ,when our Japanese Akita, Chino, was 5 years old; and several months earlier our huge lovely

Dog De Bourdox passed away.

I wanted only a small, cute dog to cherish; nothing else.

It was then that I started to discover the world of the Havanese.

At first, I had very little knowledge and experience of small dogs and Havanese , but I quickly became very interested

and intrigued by the Havanese breed – I wanted to “learn” this breed,to know it as well as I know the back of my hand !

I spent more and more time in front of my computer surfing the internet. Slowly, I became acquainted with many breeders

of different types.

Tina was 1 year old when I began searching for a stud dog to accompany her.

After searching for a suitable male in Israel with no results,my entire perspective on breeding dogs changed.

On August 2009, my husband and I traveled to Budapest to bring home our first male, Toni, a chocolate Havanese,

and also another female, Rose,from another breeder.

Our dogs are part of our loving family and bring plenty of joy into our lives.

We enjoy showing our dogs as well as having them cuddled up with us on the sofa.

Our Havanese are house-dogs and most importantly, they are pets first and show dogs second.

This hobby has become a very significant part of my life; I spend all of my spare time with my dogs.

Recently, I finally decided to become the first Havanese breeder in Israel.

My goal is to breed and present top quality Havanese that represent the best qualities of the breed.

We are passionately dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of our Havanese – both in temperament and appearance.

I started my kennel with two Havanese girls and one boy: Tina, Rose, and Toni. These three Havanese represent three different bloodlines, and different colors. While raising my dogs I realized how much effort and how many doubts must be overcome until a puppy becomes a real show dog. I also had to learn that if I want to become a good breeder, I first have to be determined about providing them with good “education”.

I know there's a difficult road ahead of me, but breeding is my greatest passion and any road-bump I may come across and every sacrifice I might have to make is worth it in the end.

I am in the process of importing more Havanese to Israel to widen the gene pool and to ensure that my lines are as diverse and healthy as possible.

I am very happy that I found this beautiful breed!

On 25 February 2011 we received a beautiful male , 5 month old ,from U.S. His name is Dusty (the official name is Simcha) ,

he is from Prairwind Havanese.

On 22 June 2011, we flew to bring a beautiful female from Denmark.

On January 2012 we flew Europe to pick up our 6 th Havanese - lovely Fifi .

Since than we add to our family Kira and Julie .

At the end of 2018 we bought our amazing Lilu ,a small beautiful chocolate girl .

From Jun. 2019 our dogs are 7 lovely beautiful Havanese:

Toni, Rose, Dusty (Simcha), Kira, Fifi , Julie and Lilu .

Our puppies born and raised in our home, under supervision, with lots of love and one-on-one attention.

They are socialized from the moment they are born.
