Mr. Gibson is a James Madison University graduate who, most recently, built a robust theatre program at Spotswood High School in Rockingham County. In the last 4 years, he has advanced to the VHSL One Act State competition 3 times, winning 2 State titles and finishing runner-up once. Along the way, he was recognized at Spotswood HS as the 2017 Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Gibson is excited about stepping into the vibrant program at HHS where he can collaborate with a full fine arts team and work with such a supportive community. He hopes to challenge the entire student body to engage in the process of creating art.
Outside of school, Ken and his wife Wendy live in Harrisonburg, have five children, one an HHS graduate and three younger children in the Harrisonburg School System.
