Harmonic Ascension (or HA! for short) is a Hardcore Questing Driven Pack. We use HQM to provide the structure for the challenges and story.
Magic and Science must be developed together to avert a disastrous future. Dual development of magic and science from an ancient world to a futuristic outcome. Gameplay emphasizes the contradiction and conflict between them, but impose harsh penalties for extreme imbalances between progress in the two paths.
Maintain the Balance
If magic/science get too advanced over the other the difficulty scales upwards. Threats include Greater difficulty of Monsters, Volcanic Eruption, Falling Stars, Curses Spreading, and most anything else we can control. Monster Hunting, Merchant, and Civilization quests advance both magic and science, making keeping the balance easier.
Psudohistorical Progress
Progress through mods organized into development trees, linear development to emulate loosely historical progress, earning points for Science or Magic. Clear Point Thresholds to advance your Tiers in Magic and Science to unlock new Mods. But never fear, you'll need those lessons learned in the past for your entire playthrough. Even out your reputations of Magic and Science by Transforming functional items into purely Aesthetics options, and display these signs of civilization and progress.
Adventure Abroad
Discover the Mountain Ruins which contain entrances to a world of infinite darkness and dungeons. Safely banished to this deep dark place, dungeons are rich in treasure, and swarming with monsters. That adventure can be easily location without those dungeons taking up all the places where you might like to build in a beautiful overworld shaped by Alternate Terrain Generation.
Single and Multiplayer Friendly
Available for both home and server play. As it's not a Universal pack, we can keep it light enough on mods to broaden the range of systems which can handle it. the server package will include several server side only mods to make maintaining your server easier.
