Math 64 Unit 2 Packets are graded. If you submitted it, your score is in the gradebook.
If you dropped it off at Oceanside, you may pick it up in 3600 during business hours starting on Tuesday.
If you dropped it off at San Elijo, you may pick it up from the secretary in the Admin Bldg during business hours starting on Wednesday.
If you want it back, pick it up by April 20th, or it will be recycled.
Make sure you scheduled your Test 3 appointment! The due date to enter it in the online HW is this Wednesday.
Hope you are all working on Unit 3. I've uploaded a help video for many of the online problems.
4/10/17
If you submitted Packet 2, please pick it up during business hours by 4/20/17 at the same place where you dropped it off. I am making changes to some problems in each HW assignment. Each assignment will be available at least a week before its due date.
You should be transcribing the videos for 3.4-3.6 in the packet, and complete those sections in the packet by 4/12. Then open HW 9--due 4/14.
4/14: DUE DATE: HW 9
4/14: Transcribe videos and complete 3.7-3.9 in packet by 4/19. Then open HW 10--due 4/21.
4/16: SEE REVIEW PROBLEMS FOR TEST 3. I highly suggest you do the review problems. These are not part of your grade.
4/21: DUE DATE: HW 10
4/22-4/27:Take Test 3 during appt time. Submit your completed, bound Unit 3 packet to 3600 Building at Oceanside or Administration Building at San Elijo. Make sure your name and my name is on packet. Ideally, submit it when you come to campus to take your proctored test. If you forget, I will accept it until noon on 4/28. It's not required to turn in the packet if you want to use your online HW score for that grade.

We finish Mod 3 this week. Transcribe videos and complete 3.7-3.9 in packet by 4/19. Then open HW 10--due 4/21.
On many HW problems, I've uploaded videos to help you with that problem. If you need help and there is a video, watch it.
I highly suggest you do the REVIEW PROBLEMS FOR TEST 3 in Mod 3. These are not part of your grade. Also, there are online Unit 3 Review & Practice Tests you should practice that are in the folder you see when you log in.
4/22-4/27:Take Test 3 during appt time. Submit your completed, bound Unit 3 packet to 3600 Building at Oceanside or Administration Building at San Elijo. Make sure your name and my name is on packet. Ideally, submit it when you come to campus to take your proctored test. If you forget, I will accept it until noon on 4/28. The option for using your final percent on online HW in place of final percent earned on Unit packets is still available, but that option won't show up in MyOpenMath as I will be doing that at the end of the semester if it works to your advantage. It's not required to turn in the packet if you want to use your online HW score for that grade.
If you are considering dropping the class, note the deadline below. You can take Test 3, go to your gradebook and note your current grade in the class to help you make that decision. See the syllabus for the grading policy.
Reminder: To account for one emergency or one missed test, your score on the final exam will replace the lowest percent (including a zero) on one of the regular tests if that percent is higher than your lowest percent on a test. The final exam is mandatory and must be taken to earn credit in the class. If an emergency occurs when you are to take the final, contact me immediately. Nothing replaces the proctored final exam grade.
NOTE: DEADLINE TO WITHDRAW with a W instead of a letter grade is 4/27!
4/21/17
Reminder: HW 10 is due today, 4/21.
I highly suggest you do the REVIEW PROBLEMS FOR TEST 3 in Mod 3. Also, open the Review and Practice Test folder and then the Unit 3 Review & Practice Tests folder. You should practice doing these problems in a test-like setting. You can keep trying similar questions in the review, but the Practice Test is like taking a real test--you get one problem and have 3 attempts, so can't take the same Practice Test more than once. The Reviews and Practice Tests are not counted.
4/22-4/27:Take Test 3 during appt time. All test appointments are made directly with the APC. Contact them if you have any questions. If you are turning in the Unit 3 packet, submit it to 3600 Building at Oceanside or Administration Building at San Elijo no later than noon on 4/28--ideally drop it off before you take your test.

I extended the due date for HW 10 to Wed, 4/26/17. So if you haven't finished it, go for it! That's a final due date. You can't get a late pass for any more time. Do the Reviews and Practice Tests too

More than half of the students in our class are using the option to have their online HW grade replace their grade on the Packets. So, for now, the gradebook shows everyone's grade as if the Unit Packets did not count, and everything was based on the online HW. For those of you who are turning in packets, DON'T WORRY! You'll get those points at the end of the semester!!! So you will still be able to see the points earned on each packet, but it's not reflected in the grade for now. I will compute everyone's grade both ways at the end of the semester, and give you the grade that works to your advantage. MyOpenMath doesn't let me do it two ways at once, so I am doing it this way for now since a lot of students who aren't turning in their packets are confused about what their real grade is.
If you already took Test 3, start transcribing the videos and doing the problems in Packet 4. Believe me, you should watch the videos and do the problems in the packet even if you don't turn it in.

You can review the answers to Test 3 now as it's in review mode. To see your answers and grade, look in your gradebook.
We have 3 weeks to complete Unit 4. You should be working on it. If you haven't made your appt for the final exam, do that ASAP, and then fill out HW Test Appt to let me know when you are taking it.
Below is the Schedule for the remaining of the semester. Even if you do not turn in the packets, you should watch the videos and do the problems in the packet.
4/28: Transcribe videos and complete 4.1-4.4 in packet by 5/3. Then open HW 11--due 5/5.

5/3: DUE DATE: HW FE Appt
5/5: DUE DATE: HW 11
5/5: Transcribe videos and complete 4.5-4.7 in packet by 5/10. Then open HW 12--due 5/12.

5/12: Transcribe videos and complete 4.8-4.9 in packet by 5/17. Then open HW 13--due 5/19. Review the definitions and properties (4.10) and do the 4.11 review problems in the packet.
5/19: DUE DATE: HW 13
Do any posted reviews or practice tests posted.
Final exam is cumulative but focuses on unit 4.
5/19-5/23:Take Final Exam during appt time.
