At the bottom is a spreadsheet showing the dates HW and Quiz assignments are made and their due dates/times, and deadlines for taking and turning in the proctored tests. Use the scroll bar to see the full semester. You may always work ahead. More details are below and in the syllabus.

For each HW assignment in CC, first go to that section in Learn the Material to read the e-text, see examples, and watch the video. Also, go to Videos by Julie to watch the youtube videos for that section, go to Handouts by Julie for notes, and see the discussion board for that chapter. Once you have studied the material, go to DO HW. Each HW has a prerequisite. Students should turn in assignments by the due date, but you may work on past due HW assignments. There is no penalty for turning HW in late. The final deadline to submit any HW is 11:59 pm on Wednesday, 10/13/10.

Quizzes MUST be submitted by noon on the due date listed, and may not be taken late. To allow for one emergency, I drop the lowest quiz score.

Quizzes are in the Take a Quiz link. It is important to be up-to-date on HW in order to be prepared to take a quiz on a chapter. To prepare for a quiz, go to Learn the Material for a chapter, scroll down to the Chapter Test, print the pdf from the book (or go to that page at the end of the chapter if you bought the book), and try all problems on your own paper, showing all your work. Check your answers by going to Learn the Material, and scrolling down to Selected Answers. For any problems you missed, you may view a video of that problem worked out step by step by going to Learn the Material for the chapter, scrolling down and clicking on Chapter Test Prep Video.

Both Midterms and the Final must be taken in the MLC. If you want to take a test earlier than the week listed in the Calendar, let me know and if it is ready, I will send to the MLC early. The MLC is usually open on Saturdays and Monday-Thursday evenings, as well as during the day Monday through Friday. See their website for hours and more info at http://hub.miracosta.edu/MLC/

You will need to make an appointment to take tests in the MLC. Appointments are given out on a first-come first-served basis. If you wait to call in to get an appointment, you might be forced to take a test earlier than your preferred date/time. If appointments are booked up, you'll have to take whatever is still available. Make sure you read and follow directions in Test Info link in CC.
