11/3/16 Schedule appt to take Test 3
Test 3 is in 2 weeks. If you haven't already done so, log in TODAY to schedule your Test 3 appt with the APC, and then open the green Test Info folder you see when you log in and complete HW T3 Appt to let me know when you scheduled your appt in order to get credit for scheduling 2 weeks in advance. The test window is 11/16-11/23. All Test Info, including HW T3 Appt and HW Final Exam Appt is in the green Test folder in MyOpenMath. It's a good idea to schedule your appointment for the final exam now too as appointment times for the final are filling quickly since all online classes take it the same time. Any of the following ways may be used to schedule an appt for each proctored test at the Academic Proctoring Center (APC):
and scroll to bottom. Click the campus where you want to take test. If you live outside San Diego county and you need to take a proctored exam at an approved testing site, click the link at bottom of their webpage. Students must follow procedures and make all arrangements with the APC. Do this well in advance of each test.

11/3/16 IMPT T3 Date changes and more!
This is an important message to all students regarding available dates to take Test 3.
I added two test dates available to take Test 3.
The Window to take Test 3 is Wed, Nov. 16 - Wed, Nov. 23. The APC closes at 6 pm on 11/23, the Wed before Thanksgiving. If you cannot take it during day time hours, choose to take it at Oceanside on Wed, 11/16 or Thurs, 11/17, or on Saturday, 11/19.
If you do take it on 11/16 or 11/17, make sure you do the Review HW and the Review I posted in Mod 3 ahead of time.
I will be out of town at a conference from 11/16-11/20, so if you have questions, you'll need to contact me no later than Tuesday, 11/15.
Try to get ahead!
11/7/16
Reminders: HW 21 is due today, 11/7. HW T3 Appt is due 11/9. HW 22 is due 11/10. HW 23 is due 11/14. HW 24 (Review) is due 11/17. Also, do the written review I posted in Mod 3. It's the last link titled: Review Problems for Test 3: highly recommended!!!
Test 3 dates are 11/16-11/23.
The last date to drop this class is 11/18. At the beginning of next week, I will be dropping students not following the attendance policy, which is to submit answers in the HW problems at least every few days. So make sure you not only log in but that you also are actually doing the HW. If you have trouble getting answers correct, at least upload your video notes for each assignment by the due date to show attendance.

Test 3 dates are 11/16-11/23. Contact the APC directly if you need any help or have questions regarding scheduling of tests. I will be out of town 11/16-11/20. If you miss a test, you earn a zero. But your lowest score (which would be a zero if you miss a test) would be replaced with your grade on the final.
The last date to drop this class is 11/18. If you want to drop, I suggest you do it earlier than that date so that if you have trouble, you have time to get help. If you haven't been passing the tests with 75% or above, you chance of passing the class is not good. But it's possible. You'd need to do well on both Test 3 and the final exam.
At the beginning of this week, I will be dropping students who have not been following the attendance policy, which is to submit answers in the HW problems at least every few days. So if you did not complete the HW due last week, and have not submitted problems in the past couple of days, then you need to log in immediately and SUBMIT ANSWERS in HW 22 or HW 23. You can use a late pass for HW 22. If you have trouble getting answers correct, you must at least upload your video notes for each assignment by the due date to show attendance.

If you haven't already done so, schedule your final exam appt. Then open the green Test Info folder you see when you log in to MyOpenMath and complete HW Final Exam Appt. This online assignment is due 11/23. The test window to take the final exam is 12/9-12/13. Appointment times for the final fill quickly since all online classes take it the same week. Redo these online HW reviews in the modules (in review mode). The final also includes problems in Mod 4. Mod1: HW 1-6, 7-9, Mod 2: 10-13, 14-16; Mod 3: 17-23
Redo any paper reviews, and redo Tests 1-3.

I have graded the tests, and entered your score in MyOpenMath. Go to your gradebook to see your grade on Test 3.
Your tests should be available to pick up by Wed afternoon, 11/30. Please pick up your graded tests from the semester during business hours. You can call 760-757-2121 x7879 at San Elijo or x6874 at Oceanside to make sure it's at the campus where you took it. Pick tests up in the 3600 building at Oceanside or in the Administration building at San Elijo. Ask the secretary to give you your test(s). Bring your ID. Review it, make sure all pages were graded, points were added correctly, and that your score in MyOpenMath matches the grade on your test. If you find a discrepancy, let me know about it ASAP. IF YOU DO NOT BOTHER TO PICK UP AND REVIEW YOUR TEST, YOU MAY BE MISSING POINTS. ALSO REVIEW IT TO SEE ANY MISTAKES YOU MADE SO YOU CAN CORRECT THAT FOR THE FINAL EXAM.
Here's a last chance deal for those of you who earned low scores on tests. Anyone earning at least 80% on the final will pass the class with at least a C even if your overall score is below 70%. Anyone earning at least 90% on the final will pass the class with at least a B even if your overall score is below 80%. So, yes, you can get a B or C if you haven't done as well as you'd like on tests, but it's not going to be easy. Go for it!
