The years are flying by! Even though every year has some sad times, life is full and rewarding, and not to be taken for granted! We are grateful for our many blessings, which include our time in Mammoth last January when we all got to hang out together.
Kira just graduated from UC Berkeley with honors in math. All of our kids now have college degrees, so except for Kira's student teaching gig this spring, no more new tuition payments. And we will eventually have all those student loans payed off. Yay! (Note: my baby girl seems to be following in my footsteps: B.A. in math, teaching high school--who knew?) Ian decided to move from San Diego, so took off with his instruments in his van, headed north, and ended up finding a home in Oregon. He loves it. We are visiting him here while my cousin Jeff, who lives in Ashland, is hosting John and me. Lots of fun! Wolfgang (aka Jakob to us) is continuing to build his business while living in Oakland. John and I went to the Bequinox Festival last spring, so got a taste of his passion. Could attending Burning Man be next? John and I keep busy teaching, traveling while visiting friends and family, dancing, playing in our Temple band, and enjoying our 4 cats we adopted. It's still Camp Harland around here with family and friends visiting off and on. Our 30th anniversary is coming up this July. Wow, that was fast. This fall, John will be working on a sabbatical, and I'm taking a semester off, but will probably be creating math videos or books for fun!
We wish you a healthy year full of love and kindness! We especially hope this year brings more peace to all people around the world.
Love, Julie and the Harland Clan
