H.A.O.S.E.D is here to deliver unconditional education program support and care to the forgotten communities of Haiti
HAOSED is an organization dedicated to serving families in Haiti that lost everything during the earthquake seven years ago.
Countless of organizations have been operating in Haiti, but we have seen with our own eyes that these children and families are still in desperate need of help.
Please allow us to introduce to you our proposed HAOSED Community Center in Haiti.
Starting with our Education Summer Program, this center will be a place to empower and inspire children to get involved with each other in activities that build skills, open doors and help shape a positive outlook. We want to give them the confidence to know they can conquer the world and not let their current situation define their outcome.
Haitians helping Haitians:
HAOSED will facilitate kids to be the leaders of local events and projects like cleaning the streets, planting vegetable gardens for neighbors or maybe even hosting a town trade show.
They will learn skills, get connected and most importantly: they will get to know themselves as young people who can produce change and success.
Please look at our Impact pictures and video from last week's pilot program case study we conducted in Haiti; performed by children and families.
By supporting this approach our donors are raising a volunteer corps - Haitians helping Haitians.
In addition to may also help to ...
The news organizations and their cameras brought the devastation that occurred in Haiti into the world’s living rooms. As the news coverage is rapidly fading, so are the possibilities for solutions for the Haitian people. It will be organizations like HAOSED that will carry on the work of rebuilding a shattered country.
It is estimated that there are nearly one million orphaned children under the age of 18 after the earthquake. This greatly adds to an already existing problem.
Prior to the disaster, the illiteracy rate was over 50%. The unemployment rate was over 80% and Haiti was among the poorest countries in the world.
Since the earthquake, what little infrastructure and stability there was is now gone.
Our mission is to raise funds to directly assist the citizens of Haiti through church organizations that we have been supporting with direct contact with the people of Haiti and are able to assess the most current needs of the victims. With so many homes, schools and churches destroyed and the scarcity of food worsening daily, the rebuilding of this country and it’s resources will take years.
HAOSED is committed to the long-term support and rebuilding of the Haitian motherland and preservation of it’s culture.
Your generous contribution will help us ease the suffering by supplying food, clothing and education where it is needed most. Even after the television cameras and the media have turned away, we hope you will not.
Please help.
So that is why I ask: please support HAOSED.
The success of our organization and the children's success lies in your hands. They don't require much to survive. We thank you in advance, for your willingness to making a difference in Haitian-American family educational approach - Haitians helping Haitians – We need your financial support to make sure these opportunities aren’t lost.
Daily life for a Haitian is extremely challenging. Haiti’s rates of infant and maternal mortality are the highest in the Western hemisphere, despite the fact that many of these deaths are preventable. Education levels are low in the country, with about two-thirds of the population being literate. Haiti also has a high unemployment rate. With our programs, we started making positive impact in small local villages. Unfortunately, funding stopped.

He is leading an investigative and reporting delegation from Canada to Haiti in June, 2011. He writes and speaks frequently on Haiti's humanitarian needs and the policies of foreign intervention that have hindered Haiti's development over the decades. The Canada Haiti Action Network was founded in 2004 in reaction to Canada's backing of the overthrow of elected government in Haiti that year. It is an advocacy group for Haitian sovereignty and social justice and works with like minded partners in Canada, the U.S. and Haiti. It argues for a change in Canadian foreign policy to fully respect Haitian sovereignty and provide more effective aid assistance.

As charitable institutions can nonprofits be sued? If sued can they be held liable?
Yes. There was a time when nonprofits, under the doctrine of “charitable immunity,” were not held liable for injuries that they caused. However, nonprofit organizations can now be sued by anyone at any time, and nonprofits must accept legal and financial responsibility for their activities.
