I attended Cambridge Regional College to study for a BTEC in art and design. I specialised in Photography in the second year and then went on to do an HND in Photography at Newcastle College. Since then I have continued to study creative techniques including a city and guilds in printmaking and courses including pottery, life drawing, batik, floristry, book binding, homemade paper, dress making, creative textiles and silversmithing.Â
I have continued to take photos since leaving Newcastle. I am interested in the direct observation, through photography, of ambiguous surfaces. Working directly from found compositions in my surroundings I create images that work as visual puzzles. These often juxtapose and contrast symmetrical and asymmetrical patterns as well as contrasting tones, colours and textures. I consider myself as a fine art photographer.
I am currently working on addapting my archive of photos and putting them through photoshop to make zines.
