Kansas City Public Schools hasn't received money from a bond since 1967. Other KC Metro districts have passed bonds like these every few years.
KCPS is embarking on a significant effort to improve our school facilities, something that hasn’t been done at this scale in more than 30 years. In April 2025, KCPS will place a General Obligation (GO) Bond on the ballot to provide funding to address critical deferred maintenance needs and improve the learning environment for all KCPS students. On November 20, 2024, the KCPS School Board will consider the Building the Blueprint, 10-Year Capital Plan Recommendations, that will provide the framework for GO Bond projects.
There are several families at Hale Cook that have been involved in the Bond conversation. If you have questions or want to get connected to others who are involved, email halecookpta@gmail.com.
